Oh well ... at least they did give it try. Ping the social media for music lovers! It should have gone down a STORM especially with so many iPod users. But I guess Apple have been using with their iPhones, Macbooks and Lion OS. Shame though ...
"Ping will not make an appearance in iOS 6. Apple has decided to give up on its music social network "Ping," which has proved to be a failed attempt at diving into the social realm of the tech world. Ping, which launched in September 2010, is Apple's social network for music on iTunes. It can be found today in iTunes 10.6.3 and the iOS 6 beta.
However, Ping will not make an appearance in the release of iOS 6. This is because Apple is abandoning Ping entirely, realizing that the concept wasn't catching on with Apple users."We tried Ping, and I think the customer voted and said 'This isn't something that I want to put a lot of energy into,’" said Tim Cook, Apple CEO."
