If you're in to medium-format cameras ... this could be the one! A snip at $43,990 !! Mind you, you do get 80-megapixels out of it... so I guess it's well worth it ... lol!
"Phase One said today it's updating high-end medium-format camera line with three new Wi-Fi-equipped digital backs -- including one model that shoots only black-and-white images.

The $43,990 IQ280 keeps the same 80-megapixel sensor of its predecessor, the Phase One IQ180, but it's got a better 13-stop dynamic range -- a measurement of image's span from bright to dark. That's up from 12.5 stops on the IQ180.
Phase One announced the cameras today along with the IQ260, which has a new 60-megapixel sensor, and the IQ 260 Achromatic, a black-and-white variation. The three new digital backs will ship in June but can be ordered now, Phase One said."

The pros and cons of having bendable glass ... C|Net shows off Corning's Willow Glass. It's real flexible ... but we're not after bendable glass are we? We're after bendable displays.
"Flexible glass and flexible screens have been a hot topic for some time, culminating with fanfare at Samsung's demo of its curvy Youm OLED display at CES. Companies like Samsung, Nokia, and even Apple have been working on flexible smartphone displays for a years, but for the first time, there's enough real research and development in this area to, perhaps, start getting excited.

Just think of what a bendable smartphone could do: curve with your body's movement so it sits more comfortably in a pocket; drop from a height and flex on impact, rather than shatter; pack into any number of compartments without having to triple-swath it in bubble wrap."

Say goodbye to Sony's MiniDisc ...Like Betamax, VHS, cassette tape ... the MiniDisc will be a format of the past. It did last longer than expected, and I remember the 90's when it was a hit for music producers and recording artists. Bye bye, farewell and may you rest in peace.

"Sony has announced it is to deliver its last MiniDisc stereo next month. It marks an end to the firm's support for the system which it launched in 1992. The format only ever had limited success outside of Japan and was ultimately doomed by the rise of recordable CDs and MP3 players.
The news coincided with a teaser video released by the company promoting a PlayStation event with the caption: Be the first to know. The Wall Street Journal reported that "people familiar with the matter" said that the successor to the PlayStation 3 video games console would be unveiled at the New York press conference on 20 February."
