I know it's been a long time since I've written one of these, and I guess most of that is due to doubt as to whether or not anyone would actually find these interesting.  However, as I reflect on the meager amount of college (those of you who may or may not know me, I'm in college now, w00t!) that I've attended so far, I'm reminded of one of the first English classes where my instructor asserts that keeping a journal (blog) is a healthy attitude.  So, from now on, I'll do my best to give a weekly summary or talk about current events, fond memories, or anything tech related, really.

As for this week, it's like most; some good events, and some bad ones.  I can definitely say that when it's bad, it's really bad, but when it's good, it's really good.  What I mean is, given the fact that I've opted for nine credit hours worth of summer school, I have a bit of work to do before each test, and so I have to juggle things around a good.  Luckily, I'm doing pretty well as far as my scores are concerned.  College has been an....interesting experience, to say the least.  I thought I knew what to expect going in, and for the most part, I'm not disappointed, but there are aspects that I do feel detract greatly from the whole experience.  But I'm not complaining; I do want to earn a four-year degree.  Exactly what I will major in, well....the jury's still out on that; I have a wide array of interests, but I figure I'll end up majoring in Computer Science or Marketing.  Maybe I'll major in both.  Either way, I'm fairly optimistic about my academic future and career.

If you're a regular visitor to this site, you'll have probably noticed a lack of news posts by me.  The reason is because of the above, I've probably taken on more course work than I'm comfortable with as far as a summer semester is concerned, so please keep in mind that when I do get some free time from studying, I will definitely post news, but I do have to make some time for my studies if I want to pass all the classes.  In other words, I'll be doing what I can.  My interest in jouranalism, especially tech journalism, has definitely not waned in my time here; I still love reporting on all the latest happenings, and I don't expect I'll ever stop love it in this lifetime.  Regardless, you can still expect to see more of me in regards to blogs and social issues that are on my mind here on the site, and I'll write about things as I think of them.

In other news, if you have Netflix, The Big Lebowski is available for instant viewing, so if you haven't yet seen it, I highly recommend you watch it at least once.  It's a bit far out (and that's exactly what you think it means), but it does have some pretty funny moments, and of course, Jeff Bridges and John Goodman are great.  So yeah, if you're looking for a decent movie, then definitely check it out.

That's all for this week, so tune in next week for my weekly report.

~Nick.
