The Box and Packaging

When I first opened the package HIS had sent I was greeted with a cool looking sword on a box. Now I am not usually a fan of companies sticking stuff like that on the box, but this time I have to say that the sword looks pretty cool. The rest of the box is covered with various features of the card. Opening the main box up, you get another box. This box is more to my liking, a plain black HIS branded box. If HIS adapted that scheme for packaging I would say they would have the coolest package out there in my opinion. Opening that box up we are greeted to a paper shows you how to install the video card. Unfortunately user manuals and driver disks were not included with this particular sample but do not worry since they will be included, along with a super-cool case sticker (I have to say I'm a sucker for those stickers).

The card and iCooler heatsink

If you were hoping for a single-slot cooling design, there is not one here. Instead you get a dual-slot heatsink design. The heatsink itself seems like it is almost the size of the card. That iCooler heatsink is solid aluminum with an arctic cooling 0.15A fan. While the cooler does look rather small, once you get down to it, you are dealing with a pretty large heatsink for the amount of heat that the card actually puts out.

The PCB (printed circuit board) is a nice hint of blue. Keep that in mind if you are going for a theme with your PC colors. Getting more in-depth the memory is Hynix IC that is rated at 5.0Ghz. With clocks of 4.5Ghz there looks to be a ton of headroom for memory overclocking! Aside from that the card is absolutely tiny. It is just a piece of a video card it seems like when looking at it next to my Radeon 7970.  If you are worrying about the card not fitting in your case, I have to say you must have an ITX case or something if this card does not fit.
