Introduction Antec, maker of many things, has sent us one of their Earthwatts Platinum series PSUs. The Earthwatts line is Antec's mid range line and the Platinum 650w is the top of that mid range lineup. The main selling point of course is the 80+ Platinum efficiency. If you listen to Antec (or read the box, anyway) this will save you a ton of money. We'll look at the reality of that claim when we look at the box. First, a bit about Antec from Antec's About Us page:
I have a bit of a hard time with the environmentally friendly bit, the odds of your computer use making a meaningful difference in the environment are rather slim. Unless you set off WW3 somehow of course. That'd do it. In any case, it's time to move onward and see what Antec has to say about this unit's features and specifications.
