Dissection and Inspection (Part II) Disclaimer: Power supplies can have dangerous voltages inside them even after being unplugged, DO NOT OPEN POWER SUPPLIES. It’s just not a good idea, and doing so could very well kill you. Don’t try this at home. Don’t try this at work. Just don’t do it. For filtering we have the standard large inductor as well as a variety pack of electrolytic and polymer capacitors.
Also in residence on the secondary side's heatsink is a thermistor for the temperature controller fan.
Protections are done by this thing, it is worth noting that this chip does not support OCP, only OverVoltageProtection, UnderVoltageProtection and ShortCircuitProtection. It is also worth noting that OCP is not especially useful on a single rail 1kw PSU in the first place. It does mean that a near-short condition can cause serious issues.
The 5 V and 3.3 V rails are handled by DC-DC buck regulators on the modular output PCB.
Also present are a bunch more polymer capacitors and the standoffs to bolt the modular output board to the case. The standoffs have nuts on them with threadlocker, but are not soldered.

Unlike other reviewers I did not find any scorch marks on the sleeving or shrinkwrap. The 5 V and 3.3 V both use a pair of M3004D and a pair of M3006D MOSFETs. I can't find a datasheet for them and hence have no idea what their ratings are like.
This IC controls both DC-DC regulator outputs.
