Today, the U.S House of Representatives delt a hit to net neutrality proponents by voting against current FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Rules. Whether this will pass in the senate is up in the air, but it is a bad sign for those who want net neutrality none the less. "The U.S. House of Representatives voted on Friday to disapprove Internet "neutrality" rules that were adopted last year by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission. In a matter affecting tech and telecom giants ranging from Verizon Communications Inc (VZ.N) to Microsoft Corp (MSFT.O), House Republicans pushed through a measure against the FCC's rule by a vote of 240 to 179" Source: Reuters |
