"UK MOBILE NETWORK Three has joined the rush of firms upgrading handsets to the Android 2.2 operating system, or Froyo to its friends. We say rush, but it's been more of a crawl really. The OS is already on the Google Nexus One, and will hit the Motorola Milestone handsets some time next week. It's also on the HTC Desire. Hey, wait a minute. In a Tweet the firm said, "We can confirm that the HTC Desire Android 2.2 Froyo update, will be ready for download within the hour!" As HTC did when it first rolled out its Froyo updates in July - July! - the company has advised its users to download the upgrade using a wireless connection, as it is released as one download. "For our Froyo updaters try and update with WiFi connection...", it said in its Twitter feed, and that was confirmed later by a spokesman later on." Source: The Inquirer |
