Our good friend and reporter Michael Chung was invited to Xiaomi’s press event in Beijing for the the official announcement and launch of their latest flagship smartphone … the Xiaomi Mi Max.
The Xiaomi Mi Max has a 6.44 inch IPS (342 ppi) touchscreen with a resolution of 1080×1920, and comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 650 chipset with a Quad-core Cortex A53 processor running at 1.4Ghz PLUS a dual-core 1.8Ghz Cortex-A72. Graphics is powered by an Adreno 150 processor.

There are two options when it comes to storage … you can opt for an internal memory of 16GB with 2GB ram OR 32GBb version with 3GB ram. For photos … there’s a front facing camera at 5MP, while the main back facing camera is 16MP with dual LED flash.
And here’s the hero feature … the Xiaomi Max has a USB Type-C “reversible” connector. In other words, you can use both micro-USB and the new USB-C cables.
