Computer Expo CHKCI 2010 in Hong Kong - Part 1
CHCKI Part 2 - Lenovo, Sony and HK Showgirls

CHKCI 2010 Hong Kong

Before we start ... I would like to send my condolences to all the families of the tragic hostage incident, which happened in the Philippines on Sunday. We will hold a 3 minute silence tomorrow as a mark of respect.

This is the first time that Funky Kit has attended the CHKCI 2010 Computer Exhibition, which was held in Hong Kong's Exhibition Center - Wan Chai. It's not as big as Computex (Taiwan) of course ... but it's the biggest in Hong Kong, considering there's only 7 million residents. Nevertheless, it's a chance to escape my cave and explore the computer scene a little more.

This year at the CHKCI 2010, it was all about portables, notebooks, netbooks and tablets. Lenovo, Asus, Fujitsu, Sony and Olevia ... all had big booths showing off their latest notebook/netbook models. Antivirus companies including Kaspersky and Norton also got it on the act too.

Asus

A computer exhibition wouldn't be the same without Asus. So, at this years CHKCI 2010 ... they had a big booth showing off their gaming notebooks and some new netbooks. They also had on display, a phone phone with Garmin GPS software.

Fujitsu

For some reason, Fujitsu is big in Asia ... especially in Hong Kong. I supposed it is a Japanese brand which a lot of people in Asia tend to go for. Anyhow, they had several netbooks on display including our recently reviewed MH-330. Insterestingly they also demo'ed a 7" MID (mobile internet device), which looked pretty qute.
