Thanks to Gigabyte and our dedicated team ... Funky Kit is proud to present our exclusive coverage of Gigabyte's GOOC 2010 Finals, which was held in Taipei, Taiwan. Overclocking What is overclocking? and what is all the fuss about? Well, overclocking is technique in which users tweak and adjust various settings on the motherboard, so that a cheaper processor can achieve the speeds, only available on more expensive processors. I remember back in 1995, during my early days of DIY computing, overclocking was only popular with the hardcore enthusiasts, and it was a very niche market. Nowadays, overclocking has become extremely popular, not only for the hardcore extreme enthusiasts, but also for regular mainstream users. The reason behind this, is because many manufacturers have introduced new innovative technologies and features, that allow easier overclocking ... achieving near impossible speeds.

"With contestants from over 33 countries participating, the GOOC is the largest overclocking event of its kind in the world! Overclockers from around the globe battle it out on top-notch hardware from GIGABYTE, Intel, ATI, ADATA, Seagate and Envision. The worldwide final contestants are the winners from the regional finals held in Indonesia, China, Mexico, Spain and USA in June and July. The winners of the regional events will then head to Taipei to compete against each other in Taipei, Taiwan in Hua-Shan Creative Park (East 3 Hall) on Saturday, September 25th, 2010."

About GOOC GO OC, also known as GIGABYTE Open Overclocking Championship, is the NO.1 brand in holding worldwide overclocking competition. Starting from year 2008, we devoted ourselves to have a close relationship with worldwide overclockers to promote our high-end products, and this will be the 3rd year we are having this huge event.
The Venue We take to the venue where the 15 finalists will be competing. The competition was held at the East 3 Hall in Hua-Shan Creative Park, Taiwan. It's a great venue with lots of great scenary, parks and heritage buildings, which have been refurbished recently. The President of Gigabyte as well as important VIP members and sponsors were there to give their welcome speeches during the opening ceremony. To top it off ... a traditional Chinese Lion dance was performed, to enhance the atmosphere and to entice the overclockers to "Fight for Glory"
