Recently, there were reports that Hong Kong Customs seized a batch of dedicated mining cards, which were apparently destined for China. Bitcoin is to-some-extent banned in China, however, that doesn’t deter miners from the irresistible urge of the Bitcoin. Currently, China mines the most Bitcoin in the world consuming a massive 65% of all hash power.
There were about 300 mining cards in this batch. The model is reported to be NVIDIA’s CMP 30HX. The details have not been announced. From the photos, we can see that it is dual-fan heat dissipation and no HDMI/DP video output interface, which we can conclude that the cards are designed purely for mining.
The CMP series is a dedicated mining card launched by NVIDIA in February this year for the mining market, including four different models of 30HX, 40HX, 50HX, and 90HX. Authorized dealers include ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gigabyte and MSI. Two low-end models will be launched at the end of this quarter, and two high-end models will follow up next quarter.
