Today we will be taking a look at the ASRock X570S PG Riptide motherboard, which is designed for gamers and users who wants great performance at an affordable price. It features the latest X570S chipset, a fanless version of the orginal X570. It’s compatible with all of the AMD Ryzen 3000, 4000 G-Series and 5000 series of desktop processors, and supports memory speeds of up to DDR4 5000+ (OC).
It comes with 1 x PCIe 4.0 x16 Steel slot for graphics card, 2 x PCIe 3.0 x16 Slots, as well as 3 x PCIe 4.0 x1 Slot. For storage, there’s a total of 6 x SATA ports, 2 x Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4 x4) for SSDs, and 1 x M.2 Key-E for WiFi module. And for connectivity, you get 3 x USB 3.2 Gen2 (Front Type-C, Rear Type-A+C), 8 x USB 3.2 Gen1 (4 Front, 4 Rear), 6 USB 2.0 (4 Front, 2 Rear), and you also get the Killer E3100X 2.5GB LAN.
And as with all ASRock motherboards, you’ll also get all of their unique features which includes the 10 Phase, Digi Power, Dr. MOS, and of course, the 7.1 CH HD Nahimic Audio, as well as ASRock’s PolyChrome Sync.
The X570S PG Riptide comes with ASRock’s Lightning Gaming Ports which are designed for die hard gamers and enthusiasts. This feature is also found on the B550 PG Riptide motherboard. And not to neglect, you also get their unique Graphics Card Holder, which allows you to install a range of large but heavy graphics card into your system. It supports the weight of the card by mounting the end on to the holder, and thus reducing the ugly sag.
The X570S PG Riptide is virtually identical to the B550 PG Riptide, all except of course the X570S chipset, which is fanless and is covered by a large heatsink with the ASRock’s PG logo, and this lights up with RGB. It also comes with not 1, but 2 clear CMOS buttons … one is located on the I/O panel, while the other is found on the motherboard itself.
As I’ve said before, the PG Riptide is really aimed at the budget conscious user who wants an AMD based motherboard that can offer good performance at an affordable price. And this is evident, as the motherboard lack certain features which are usually found on more higher-end models … diagnostic LEDs, onboard WIFI 6, onboard power-on/reset switches, an integrated I/O hood and larger heatsinks for the MOSFETs.

We’ll be testing the motherboard using our Ryzen 5 5600X featuring 6 cores/12 threads, 32GB of LExar Hades RGB DDR4-3600, a Zotac GeForce RTX 2080, along with Gigabyte’s Aorus 500GB PCIE Gen4 SSD. I’m expecting the results to be similar to other X570 motherboards that we’ve tested in the past.
