We recently reviewed the Thermaltake Floe RC Ultra 240 CPU & Memory AIO Liquid Cooler, which we thought was a fantastic all-in-one cooler, offering decent cooling performance and comes with 2 large LCD display on both the CPU and memory waterblocks. This AIO cooler is compatible with Thermaltake’s TOUGHRAM RC series which includes both their DDR4 and DDR5 memory kits.
So with that said, we’ll be taking a look at the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM RC DDR5-4800 32GB memory kit, which will be cooled by the Thermaltake Floe RC Ultra 240 AIO cooler. These modules are rated to run at DDR5-4800 (2400MHz) with a CAS latency of 40-40-40-77 and operated at a low voltage of just 1.1v. It comes with an impressive life-time warranty, but here’s no mention of support for XMP profiles … I guess these modules are designed for overclocking. You know this because of the cooling required, especially when it’s compatible with the Thermaltake Floe RC Ultra 240 AIO cooler.
It features a built-in Power Management IC (PMIC) to enhance power supply stability at a low operating voltage of just 1.1V, resulting in optimized power-efficiency. It also comes with on-die error correction code (ECC), which allows the memory modules to correct errors automatically giving you increased stability and reliability.
One thing I’ve noticed about DDR5 ram, is that the high latency and in this case, it’s CAS latency of 40-40-40-77. I guess this is one of th trade-offs when it comes to higher memory speeds of DDR5. Using the Z690 motherboard I also noticed the memory running in Quad Channel mode. For those who don’t know, here’s the explanation why? … DDR5 gives you two 32-bit wide (40-bit wide, with ECC) channels per stick, which means that you get a quad-channel configuration when running two DIMMs.

We’ll be testing the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM RC DDR5-4800 32GB memory kits on our test rig, which is comprised of an ASRock Z690 Taich motherboard, along with an Intel Core i9-12900FK processor cooled by a Thermaltake Floe RC Ultra 240 AIO cooler, along with a ASRock Radeon RX 6500 XT (4GB GDDR6) graphics card.
Oddly, I could not find the XMP options in the BIOS for these memory kits, so I’ve decided to manually set them from the default speed of DDR5-4800 (2400MHz). I left all other options to AUTO.
At the time of review, we couldn’t find a MSRP for the Thermaltake TOUGHRAM RC DDR5-4800 32GB Memory Kit, but expect to pay around USD $285-300. You can buy something similar … Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB
