Yes, this is what we’ve been waiting for and it’s finally here … NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition based on the new Pascal architecture! According to Nvidia, the Founders Edition will contain “premium” materials … I’m guessing better quality and pre-tested GPUs, as well as faster and higher quality GDDR5 ram. This means it should overclock extremely well. Nividia claims that their Founders Edition is also ultra-efficient in terms of power consumption … mmm, really? Well, let’s find out.
Our good friends over at HardOCP have posted a review including benchmarks. Head over there to take a look …
“NVIDIA’s next generation video card is here, the GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition video card based on the new Pascal architecture will be explored. We will compare it against the GeForce GTX 980 Ti and Radeon R9 Fury X in many games to find out what it is capable of.
… The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 is a marvel of engineering and gaming performance. It performs amazingly, it’s power efficient, there’s potential for higher clocks, and it is feature rich. The GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition is the fastest video card on the planet when it comes to today’s games. And the GTX 1080 is not just a little faster than yesterday’s flagship GPUs, it is a lot faster.”
