What’s up with Asus Lately?

UPDATE: Asus Reassure Users and Clarifies its Position on AM5 Motherboard Warranty

Asus a renowned brand for PC components, laptops and accesories, have been getting some really bad PR lately. Both renowned YouTubers Gamers Nexus and JayzTwoCents have posted a video recently ripping into Asus for their lack of support and responsibility over their BOIS issues on their AM5 motherboards, specfically their X670E series.

This is not the first time. We also experience the same BIOS issues on the X670E Crosshair Hero motherboard. It works (kinda), at default settings using a Ryzen 9 7900X (non 3D V-Cache) … but I was not able to run EXPO memory settings. Every time I enable the EXPO settings, it would fail to boot! However, at BIOS default of DDR5-4800 … sure it will run, but that just SUCKS!

There was also news about Asus’s new BIOS overvolting the Ryzen 7000 processors and thus stories of burnt CPUs emerged. This is NOT good! What’s more, Asus would not, and did not cover any warranties and did not want to take any responsibilities.

Now imagine spending USD $600-700 on an new Ryzen 7000 series processor (with 3D V-cache) and watching it suffer the same fate!

With limited support and no new BIOS fixes … I’m now left with a motherboard that’s just sitting in my labs.

So, are we seeing the same issue for ASRock, Gigabyte or MSI? … Well, so far I haven’t received any complaints just yet, but if you do have a similar issue, please leave your comments down below.

Closing comments … Asus get your act together. Look after your customers and take responsibility. You are a multi-billion dollar company, so spend some of resources and work with AMD to fix this BIOS issue. PLEASE!
