Today, we’ll be taking a look at the Gigabyte AORUS Z790 Elite X WiFi 7 Motherboard. It’s compatible with all Intel 13th Gen and the latest 14th Gen processors on the LGA1700 socket. It supports up to 192GB of DDR5 ram with speeds of up to DDR5-8266 OC.
It features a Digital Twin 16+1+2 phases VRM solution, and extra large heatsinks with 4 times the surface area for cooling.
For storage, it comes with a total of 6 SATA ports and 4 x PCIE Gen4x4 M.2 SSD slots featuring Gigabyte’s EZ-Latch Design.
It also includes 2 x PCIE 4.0 x16 slots and a PCIE 5.0 x16 slot featuring PCIE UD Slot X which provides strength and enchanced protection for your graphics card.
For connectivity, you get Intel 2.5GbE LAN, Bluetooth 5.3 & Wi-Fi 7 with Ultra-high gain antenna. You also get a total of 17 USB ports, HDMI, DisplayPort and support for 2 x Thunderbolt
The audio is provided by the Realtek® ALC1220-VB CODEC with 7.1 High Definition audio, audiophile grade capacitors and support for S/PDIF Out.
There are also a clear CMOS and reset switch located on the bottom right side of the board and a Q-flash button on the bottom for easy update of the BIOS.
And finally, Gigabyte’s Ultra Durable designs which feature an 8-Layer PCB, 2x copper Enhancement and Back Drilling Technology.
Intel Z790 Chipset
