Today, we’ll be taking a look at the ASRock Phantom Gaming Z890 NOVA WiFi motherboard. This motherboard is ASRock’s top model in the Phantom Gaming series, and designed for the gaming enthusiasts who wants great aesthetics, lots of enthusiast features and plenty of expansion and connectivity. the board itself is virtually identical to ASRock’s flagship Z890 Taichi, and utilizes Intel’s latest Z890 chipset supporting all of the new Core Ultra (Series 2) processors on the LGA 1851 socket.
Just like the Z890 Taichi, the Z890 NOVA uses an 8-layer, 2oz Copper PCB and features a powerful 20+1+2+1+1 Power Phase Design with 110A SPS for Vcore, and 20K black capacitors for excellent stability and reliability.
For cooling you get the same composite VRM heatsink and a heat pipe as found on the Z890 Taichi, which really helps with heat dissipation.
Expansion slots include 1 x PCIE 5.0 x16 slot and 1 x PCIE 4.0 x16 slot. It also comes with 4 x DDR5 DIMM slots with Memory OC Shield, and supports both Intel XMP and AMD EXPO memory modules with speeds of up to DDR5-9600+.
For storage, it comes with 4 SATA ports and 5 x Hyper M.2 PCIE Gen4 slots, as well as 1 x Blazing M.2 PCIE Gen5 slot for your SSDs. Additionally, ASRock have also included a M.2 PCIE expansion card which allows you to further add up to 4 x M.2 SSDs.
The motherboard includes a unique M.2 Heatsink featuring a tool-less design and a quick-release notch for easy installation of SSDs. What’s more, you also get the graphics card EZ Release feature, allowing hassle-free installation and removal of GPUs.
For connectivity, the rear I/O panel comes with 2 x USB 2.0 Ports, 4 x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A Ports, 4 x USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A Ports, and 2 x Thunderbolt 4 Ports Type-C (40 Gb/s)*
The Z890 NOVA also include mostly the same features as found on the Z890 Taichi. These include the Realtek 7.1 HD Nahimic audio with WIMA caps, a total of 21 USB ports (12 rear, 9 front), WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and ASRock’s Polychrome RGB. And lastly, you also get the 2 x Thunberbolt 4 ports, 1 x 2.5GbE and 1 x 5GbE LAN for super fast connectivity.
