Over the past few years, I been using an Apple iPhone for both personal use and work. I enjoyed the security that Apple offers, especially with my banking and crypto apps. It’s not to say that the iPhone is non-hackable, but a least it’s a lot secure than most smartphones that I’ve used in the past. Having said that, one thing I really hate about Apple, is that when they release a new iPhone, there isn’t anything exciting with their new models. If you take a look at the some of the “so-called” new features that Apple are promoting with their new iPhones … they’re really just incremental upgrades or changes. These new features aren’t really new considering their competitors already had them 2-3 years prior.
Anyway, I wanted to share my reasons for getting a new phone. As you know I use my iPhone to record a lot of videos for both personal and work. I like the versatility and convenience of a smartphone, especially for recording unboxing videos or events and exhibitions. It’s quick, easy and requires no extra equipment. Plus you can edit the video footage directly on the phone, before sharing it to your social media.
Now the other reason, which I think is very important for me… is that I want to separate this type of work (photos, videos) from my existing phone, which contains a lot of my personal items. So what’s the solution? The answer is quite clear. Keep the iPhone for personal use, and get another phone for work.
Since I already own an iPhone 15, there’s no real compelling reason to get another iPhone. Instead, I chose to get the Samsung Galaxy S25+ (512GB) after watching their Unpacked Event, which really impressed and convinced me.
It’s been more than 6 years since I last used a Samsung phone (Anroid based), but I’m sure a lot things have changed and improved since then. For starters, the feature list on Samsung’s new Galaxy S25+ is extremely impressive. But most important for me is the AI ProVisual Engine, which is now boosted by Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It offers advanced features for capturing video and photo, as well as viewing and editing. Night photgraphy is amazing, and the built-in AI helps enhance photos like never before. You also get a full set of camera, which is ideal for my line of work.

Inside the box, you’ll find a SIM card removal tool/pin, a USB-C charging cable, a quick start guide and the Samsung Galaxy S25+ phone.
Samsung Galaxy S25+
The phone is surprisingly thin, with a thickness of only 7.3mm. The screen size is 6.7-inches, which is the ideal size for me. It fits nicely inside the palm of my hand. I find the Galaxy S25 Ultra a little too big (as goes for the iPhone Pro Max models).

Verdict and Conclusion
After briefly using the Samsung Galaxy S25+ for only a couple of days, I have to say I’m mighty impressed with the phone. It’s packed with a wealth of features and computing power never seen on a phone. It’s literally a pocket-size computer in the palm of your hand.
The overall user experience is extremely fluid and smooth, thanks to Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. You get full integration with Google Suite and Samsung Apps, as well as piece of mind from Samsung’s Knox security software.
The Samsung Galaxy S25+ model I got comes with 512GB storage. It also comes with 12GB RAM and large 6.7″ inch Dyanmic AMOLED 2X screen with a maximum resolution of 3120×1440 (QHD+).

But for me, the best feature has to be the AI ProVisual Engine, which offers advanced features for capturing video and photo, as well as viewing and editing. Night photgraphy is amazing, and the built-in AI helps enhance photos like never before. It could even record up to 8K @ 30fps. This will be the phone I’ll be using for all and future video work.
Almost forgot to mention. You also get Galaxy AI and if you purchase the phone now, you can get Gemini FREE for 6 months. Gemini is a powerful AI assistant from Google.
Battery life is very good. I can easily get a full day’s use thanks to its large 4,900mAH battery. With the Samsung Galaxy S25+ I can now use this purely for work, while keeping the iPhone separate for all my personal items like online banking etc.
