Thanks to Asus, we’ll be taking a look at their ROG Maximus IX Hero Motherboard. It’s one of those new gaming motherboards which I’ve been waiting to get my hands for the past couple of months.
It’s been quite some time since I last reviewed an Asus motherboard, but after re-establishing our connections during the Computex exhibition last year, our efforts have finally paid off. I must thank you (the readers and visitors) and my team for the continued support. Ok enough talk …. let’s continue.
Asus is one of those brand names that’s synonymous with performance, stability and quality. So it’s no wonder, there is usually a price premium when Asus release new products. Their products are usually the choice of the enthusiasts, gamers, overclockers and power users. And I have to say the saying is true … “you’ll get what you pay for”.

Here’s a little blurb taken from Asus’s website …
ASUS takes its name from Pegasus, the winged horse in Greek mythology that symbolizes wisdom and knowledge. ASUS embodies the strength, purity, and adventurous spirit of this fantastic creature, and soars to new heights with each new product it creates.
The Taiwanese information technology industry has grown enormously over the last few decades and the country is now a dominant player in the global market. ASUS has long been at the forefront of this growth and although the company started life as a humble motherboard manufacturer with a handful of employees, it is now the leading technology company in Taiwan and employs over 11,000 people around the world. ASUS makes products in almost every conceivable category of information technology too, including PC components and peripherals, notebooks, tablets, servers and smartphones.
About ROG
For years since its establishment, ASUS aimed to put an ever-greater emphasis on PC gaming. This process resulted in the 2006 founding of the Republic of Gamers brand (ROG), formed for the sole purpose of delivering the most innovative hardcore hardware for truly dedicated gamers.
Since then, the efforts of the ROG team have led to a constant flow of PC gaming technology that has become legendary among enthusiasts for its performance. ROG is more than just hardware, though – we take an active part in the global gaming community, helping develop the industry by sponsoring events such as PAX and Dreamhack. Worldwide media have recognized ROG as a leader in PC gaming and overclocking performance, with many of our products winning awards and gaining very positive feedback from hardware pros.
With this great response from gamers and the industry, ROG has all the resources it needs to keep working on enabling even better experiences – technology never sleeps, nor should the action!
It will be interesting to see how the ROG Maximus XI Hero will perform against other Z270 gaming motherboards on the market, such as the Gigabyte Aorus Z270 Gaming K5. I’m expecting some really close results, but what will make the ROG Maximus XI Hero stand out above the rest, are all the extra features you’ll get with it.
Let’s start with the specifications and features of the ROG Maximus XI Hero in our next page. While you’re here, you can also check out user reviews at Amazon, and buy the motherboard now – https://goo.gl/pzvV0c.
