Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, as well as upcoming Galaxy Note 8, are all missing one key feature – the in-display fingerprint scanner. Due to various problems, Samsung failed to implement a biometric fingerprint scanner under a smartphone display and the KGI analyst believes that Samsung has already decided to keep the same position of the scanner for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus.
This means that Galaxy Note 9 will be the first Samsung smartphone that will feature fingerprint scanner under display and the South Korean company will definitely be late to the party. Until then, users will have to get used to the rear side fingerprint scanner, which proved to be controversial since users often end up smudging the camera lens.
