Today, we’ll be taking a quick look at the TeamGroup T-Force XCalibur RGB DDR4-4000 16GB Memory Kit. These “Special Edition” memory kits are XMP 2.0 ready and are rated to run at DDR4-4000 with memory timings of 18-20-20-44 @ 1.35V.
Although the memory timings seem to be quite high, the increased speed of DDR4-4000 should counter balance any latency. And of course, higher memory speeds means higher overclocking ability.
There is one thing to note. Not all motherboards can support high memory speeds above DDR4-3200. I recommend checking your motherboard manufacturer first for compatibility.
They come with some nice heat-spreaders along with a unique totem design. It also has full-color RGB LED illumination that glows from throughout the top of the unit at an ultra-wide angle of 120°. What’s more, these memory modules are compatible with all major RGB lighting and synchronization standards, which includes … T-FORCE BLITZ (beta version), ASUS Aura Sync, GIGABYTE’s RGB Fusion, MSI’s Mystic Light Sync and ASRock’s Polychrome Sync.
T-FORCE
T-FORCE is TEAM force. The red “T” on the logo of “TF” represents TEAMGROUP’s passion for the storage products. The black “F” represents TEAMGROUP’s over 18 years of promotion of storage products. The visual design of the perfect combination elegantly symbolizes a pair of flying wings. They represent that the high quality and extreme performance gaming products from TEAMGROUP are capable of allowing all gamers to break the speed limit and enjoy the ever-changing world of gaming.
Using memory above DDR4-4000 can be tricky. Both motherboard and memory needs to be compatible with each other. I’ve experienced many cases where the motherboard says it can support DDR4-4600+ and above… only to find out that the memory can only run at DDR4-3200.
Anyway, let’s hope this is not the case here. I really want to see how well these T-Force XCalibur RGB DDR4-4000 16GB memory kit will perform on our MSI MPG Z390I Edge AC Motherboard.
