This year has already brought us a number of great esport events such as IEM Katowice, ESL One Cologne or Dreamhack summer but what is important more are yet to come.
Gamescom will once again host ESL lounge where PUBG will debut on its first LAN event. Even though the full lineup of tournaments for this year has not yet been revealed by the ESL, there are already some of the tournaments that we know about.
- We can look forward to Gwent tournament with a prize pool of 25,000$
- PUBG will have a first offline invitational for 80 top players that will compete for a crowdfunded sum of 350,000$
- FIFA will also be present at Gamescom this year with The PUMA Fragrances Cup for 5,000$
There are games that haven’t been announced yet, but the players sort of expect them to be a part of the tournament lineup. The list from last year pretty much suggests that Overwatch will most likely appear there same as Heroes of the Storm and of course the game most beloved by the esport audience – Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
Want to Enjoy the Thrill of Winning Together with Your Favorite Team?
Great way of doing so is winning a cash prize just as the professional players do. Do you think that Guardian will join team Faze? Bet on it! The trick of earning a nice profit from betting on GGBet is keeping track of the scores of team’s previous matches. If you are a CS:GO player, you can use this to your advantage and deposit your unwanted skins on the site and then bet them on your chosen team and turn them into profit. And if you forget to do that in advance you can always use the live betting option. There is nothing easier than betting on a winner in a game that is as good as already won.
Dreamhack Events Are Spreading from Sweden to All over the World
What started more than a decade ago as a lanparty in Jönköping grew to be one of the biggest gaming events organized in cities in Europe and America. We have already had 7 Dreamhack events this year, and another 4 are yet to come.
- Dreamhack Masters in Malmö is the first upcoming lanparty with prize pool of 250 000$
- Dreamhack Montreal is next to follow a few days later
- Denver will host Dreamhack event and has so far confirmed Championships in Halo, Hearthstone, CS:GO, League of Legends, Overwatch and Rocket League
- Dreamhack Winter will once again bring the true winter gaming atmosphere to Jönköping
ESL One Majors
In the heart of every gamer, ESL represents one word – tournaments. Be it minor leagues that players can participate in almost daily or grand events where the best programmers in the world compete in front of thousands of fans, ESL is undeniably it when it comes to competitive gaming. The upcoming events for 2017 are following:
- ESL One Hamburg is taking place from 28th to 29th October. Dota 2 Premier league will culminate at this event with grand finals for an interesting prize money. The exact amount, however, is not yet known to the public, but in comparison to ESL ONE Genting’s budget of 250 000$ it should be similar
- ESL One New York will host up to 40 top CS:GO players
You Can Play Hearthstone Tournament Almost Every Single Day of the Week
Unlike most of the esport games, Hearthstone offers dozens of tournaments for its players on most of the days of the week and in contrast to that is hard to find on esport events other than Blizzcon and Dreamhack. But once the card game is played by professionals you have a chance to use your player base knowledge and bet on a winner at hearthstone section.
StarCraft 2 Enjoyed Its Undivided Attention for the Last Season
As every fan of StarCraft knows, 2017 is a very important year for this game. StarCraft will re-live its former glory from 1998 and appeal to players in a newly remastered form. Even though the calendar has not yet filled with dates of upcoming tournaments, we can expect some old school programmers such as YellOw or BoxeR to return to the scene as well as legendary tournament series like the OSL.
StarCraft 2 is definitely not stepping down from the scene, and we can expect several tournaments to take place in the remaining quarter of this year.
- GSL versus the World where top Korean pro gamers will compete against best players from all over the world
- Dreamhack Montreal with prize pool of 100 000$ and 11 700 WCS points
- The whole third season of GSL will take place in September and August
- Following this will be the GSL Super Tournament 2
- The closing tournament of the year will be the WCS Global Finals
We definitely have some major esport events ahead of us and if you plan to watch any of the upcoming streams from these on Twitch don‘t forget to also check out the giveaway options of the events to win yourself a nice prize. For example, any Valve Major such as ESL One events can provide you with a drop of some valuable cases which include weapons with stickers and signature stickers played in the match that you were currently watching.
