Before we start … I would like to send my condolences to all the families of the tragic hostage incident, which happened in the Philippines on Sunday. We will hold a 3 minute silence tomorrow as a mark of respect.
This is the first time that Funky Kit has attended the HKDTC 2010 Computer Exhibition, which was held in Hong Kong’s Exhibition Center – Wan Chai. It’s not as big as Computex (Taiwan) of course … but it’s the biggest in Hong Kong, considering there’s only 7 million residents. Nevertheless, it’s a chance to escape my cave and explore the computer scene a little more.
This year at the HKDTC 2010, it was all about portables, notebooks, netbooks and tablets. Lenovo, Asus, Fujitsu, Sony and Olevia … all had big booths showing off their latest notebook/netbook models. Antivirus companies including Kaspersky and Norton also got it on the act too.
Asus
A computer exhibition wouldn’t be the same without Asus. So, at this years HKDTC 2010 … they had a big booth showing off their gaming notebooks and some new netbooks. They also had on display, a phone phone with Garmin GPS software.
Fujitsu
For some reason, Fujitsu is big in Asia … especially in Hong Kong. I supposed it is a Japanese brand which a lot of people in Asia tend to go for. Anyhow, they had several netbooks on display including our recently reviewed MH-330. Insterestingly they also demo’ed a 7″ MID (mobile internet device), which looked pretty qute.
