Zotac
Zotac International Limited is a computer hardware company based in Macau producing consumer electronics in the form of motherboards, mini PCs, nettops, and Nvidia based graphics cards.
First off, Zotac had on display the Zbox Magnus EN980, one of the smallest VR-ready PCs on display at Computex this year. Zotac achieved this machine’s relatively tiny footprint by cooling the GTX 980 graphics chip and Core i5-6400 CPU inside with a full-coverage waterblock connected to a 120mm radiator.
Sticking with VR, another VR product that making the rounds in some vendors’ booth are VR backpack. Zotac’s version take on the formula builds on the Magnus EN980. The backpack version of this system ditches the liquid cooling for a more traditional air-cooled design. Battery life in this system is around two hours of untethered play time.
Being a partner of NVIDIA, Zotac also showcased their GTX 1080 Amp Extreme graphics card at Computex 2016. This card has a triple-slot cooler with three fans and RGB LED lighting, plus beefed-up power delivery circuitry and a sturdy backplate.
Zotac really tried to make an impression at Computex 2016, having an female MC talk about the their products and their features, whilst handing out small gifts. We also had the chance to look and get a feel of their OEM side, under a sister company, which produces mini-PCs still legacy ports for various industries.
