Towards the back of the booth was an enclosed soundproofed room, where Sennheiser displayed their top of the range HD 800S and HD 650, pumping out tunes via their HDVD 800 headphone amplifier. Trust me, you are going to be very hard pushed to find better sounding headphones than the HD 800S.
A big thank you to Sennheiser for hosting our visit to their booth at Audiotechnique this year, and stayed tuned for upcoming reviews of the Sennheiser HD 800S, the new PC 373D gaming headset, and more microphones than you can shake a stick at!
Phantom
One of the biggest pleasures we came across at Audiotechnique was the Phantom speakers from Devialet. These speakers are just awesome!!!
As a demonstration, Devialet had 3 Phantom speakers mounted on a wall above a demo TV, and the cinematic sounds was just breath-taking. For such a compact speaker, no bigger than a large pumpkin, the award-winning Phantom packs so much punch, standing at least 10 feet away I could feel the vibrations of the sound waves as if I was in an IMAX theatre.
With an optical-in and a permanently enabled Bluetooth connection, the Phantom can easily envelope an entire room full of heart-thumping sounds, and comes with a handy carry pouch for you to take around.
