Its time we wrapped up FunkyKit’s visit to HKEF 2016, but before we go there’s a few small companies we encountered at HKEF 2016 that deserves a quick mention; they took the time to speak to us and showed some great innovative ideas.
Spiriyo
Spiriyo was founded in 2012 and is based in Qingdao, China and manufacturers transparent LCDs. The application of transparent LCDs has been a big hit with product advertising with major brands across the globe, as a new way of showcasing their products and relaying product information to the consumers. With transparent LCDs, you can mount it just like any other glass panel, so advertisers have caught onto this and have installed it on all kinds of products: refrigeration cabinets, vending machines, and even fishtanks.
What really got FunkyKit’s attention was the vivid colors and detailed graphics that the transparent LCDs can show. It can be a bit distracting at first, but your eyes slowly start to focus on the graphics rather than the product that’s behind the transparent LCDs. This is by far not a new tech, but we love the ideas that transparent LCDs has already been used, and look forward to more new innovative ideas!
