Intel Developer Forum – Beijing IDF 2011

Keynote by Renee James

Renee James talk about the future of Apps and how Intel can help App developers achieve their goals. She also talks about the Android OS on Intel architecture, Intel’s colaboration with Nokia on their MeeGo mobile OS and Intel’s App Up developer program, which is aimed at increasing app developement for their mobile platforms. She also announced Intel’s partnership with China’s biggest social network provider, Tencent for mobile computing.

Keynote by Doug Davis

Doug Davis talks about how Intel is everywhere in our lives. From servers to PCs, and from mobile devices to backbone providers. He goes on to say that Intel can help with today’s demanding consumsers and improve their user experience. He touhes on the evolution of Intel’s ATOM processors … from the original 45nm to today’s 32nm, possibly 22nm in the near future. Doug says that 2010 was the year of the tablets and predicts that 2011 will the year of the sliders, detachables and covertibles. He then announces the launch of ATOM Z670 processor (aka Oak Trail), which will be shipping to manufacturers end of Q2. He also showed us a sneak peak of their next-generation ATOM processor, the Cedar Trail (see previous page).

Keynote by Ton Steenman

Ton Steenman focused on embedded platforms and how Intel have always supported manufacturers, OEM and industrial companies to achieve their goals. From public safety and surveillance systems to transport, Intel will provide innovation solutions to today’s problems. As an example of possible applications, Ton uses a vending machine with an interactive touchscreen menu/payment system powered by Intel embedded processor. He goes on to tell how Intel are focusing in this embedded market, so that we, as consumers will gain a better overall experience … starting with Intel’s ATOM.
