The Finished Build
I love building PC gaming systems, especially those that are simple to build with components that just work. And this was the case with our Project Phantom Gaming X. The In-Win 103 mid tower chassis with its Phantom Gaming design, looked very slick especially with RGB illuminated In-Win logo on the side. The only thing I was a little disappointed with, was that fact that the case didn’t come with any fans … what?! Anyway, it’s not a big deal, you can always buy more RGB fans later 😛
All of my components fitted in perfectly, including the Cooler Master Masterliquid ML240R RGB AIO cooler, the 240mm radiator, Cooler Master V850 power supply, and the ASRock Radeon RX 590 graphics card. So no complaints here!
Here’s the total cost for this PC system build as follows:
Motherboard | ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming X motherboard |
$329 |
CPU | AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor | $310 |
Cooling | Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML240R RGB AIO CPU cooler | $125 |
Ram | 16GB ADATA XPG Spectrix D60G RGB |
$99 |
HDD | 512GB ADATA XPG Spectrix S40G M.2 SSD PCIE Gen3x4 | $80 |
PSU | Cooler Master Silent Pro M 850W | $101 |
Chassis | In-Win 103 Midi Tower Chassis | $80 |
VGA card | ASRock Radeon RX590 OC Phantom Gaming |
$240 |
TOTAL |
~ $1,364 |
As it stands, I think the above component list is fine, except maybe the graphics card. Total price is approximately USD $1,364, which I think is reasonable. The biggest cost proportion is the CPU and motherboard combination, which totals $649!
So what about the performance of our Project Phantom Gaming X? Well, since we’re using a Ryzen 7 3700X with 8 cores/16 threads, we can expect some really good scores in all of our benchmarks. The only thing is … our poor old Radeon RX 590 may be our only bottleneck here. That leaves me with 2 decisions …
- Either add another Radeon RX 590 and run Crossfire mode
or - Replace the Radeon RX 590 with a beefy GeForce RTX 2000 series
