HKEF 2016 – Oplayer Smart Wearables

Let’s be one thing clear; Oplayer manufactures OEM/ODM products, so if you view its catalogue (downloadable from their own website) you’ll find that their extensive range of smart wearables don’t have fancy names but instead are product codes, such as SW1302H or SW1605C.

Oplayer’s 9 ranges of smart watches all run using the MTK Nucleus, a real-time operating system which can be scaled down to a memory footprint as small as 13 KB for both code and data. All the watches are compatible with Android and iOS smartphones and offer various degrees of water-proofing.

Battery sizes range from 230mAh to 300mAh, given a standby time of a respectable 5 to 7 days.  In the ever growing and evolving world of smart wearables, driven by the hunger from the consumer wanting them to perform more, or the flexibility to style them differently by different watch straps, I’m not too sure how Oplayer will adapt to this. Sure they have a wide range of smart watches available, and apart from being able to change the clock face there’s not much room for maneuver in terms of personal styling; there’s no accessories for you to change its looks, which is too restrictive for many users.
