At Lenovo’s Tech World show in San Francisco yesterday, the company, in collaboration with Vibram, showed off a pair of smart shows. Whilst it the smart shoes are just a concept prototype, Lenovo wants to spread its wings and move into the smart wearables segment of the market.
The prototype smart shoes offers the same features of that of most to the fitness trackers and smartwatches available right now, such as activity tracking, number of steps, distance and the calculation of calories burnt. The full specifications of the smart shoes were not revealed, but it is powered by an Intel Curie processor with LED lights at the bottom of the shoe for night-time activities. Lenovo mentioned that the insoles of the smart shoes can be customizable to a wearer’s foot via 3D printing.
