So forget about those boring bulbs in your house, the future is now, and get ready to control every little detail of the lighting of your house. A little excessive? Maybe, but you have to admit it’s really awesome.
Design and Materials
There’s not too much to say about the looks of this bulb. It’s mainly made of plastic, really simple and light, nothing out of this world, nothing that will make us think this is a “special” bulb.
For technical components, we have an E27 shell, 500 lumens, and 4000k of color temperature. Despite being such an economic gadget for the functions it offers, the light quality is really high and satisfactory. Also, it’s really good for the environment since it counts with an energy saving system of only 8W as well as an automatic shutdown system and even lets us turn off the lights from another room.
Taking care of your sight
If you work or study a lot at home you have to be careful with the kind of lighting your eyes receive, since if you don’t have appropriate lighting conditions you might suffer headaches, visual fatigue,etc. So to avoid all those symptoms we need to have the right amount of lighting.
Xiaomi has been working really carefully in this field and has promised a special eyesight protection system, designed specifically to protect the eyes of the user. This system allows us to adjust the brightness of the bulb so that we can have different levels of intensity, we don’t always need the same amount of light so that’s really convenient and at the same time it’s really easy to do.
Utility
You have to admit, we’ve all met that person that never turns off the light, that’s a really serious thing since it’s not good for the environment and it also represents some damage to our electricity bill, but thanks to this gadget that is a problem of the past.
Thanks to its WiFi connectivity we can remotely control our bulb. You just have to adjust the bulb on your lamp and synchronize it through an app and that’s it, from there we can control it to our liking. If you’re a lucky person that never had to deal with people leaving the lights on, this is still a pretty good gadget, just think you’re all comfortable watching Tv but you forgot to turn off the light, thanks to this device, you can just turn it off without having to stand.
Differences and improvements from the Yeelight Bedside Lamp
The first version of the Xiaomi Yeelight came in the form of a lamp with a tactile panel so that we can control it, but it also gives us the choice to control it from our mobile device thanks to its Bluetooth connectivity. One the main differences is that the Yeelight 2 is an independent bulb that can be put pretty much anywhere that admits the E27 shell.
Another difference is that with the Yeelight bedside lamp we could choose the color of the light, that’s a step back for Xiaomi, but we can’t forget it also gave us the illumination control system, the eyesight protection, and the possibility to control it remotely. And economically the price from one to the other has gone down considerably.

If you’re sick and tired of getting up from the couch to turn off the light, well this gadget it’s just for you, thanks to its connectivity you can turn on or off the bulb wherever you are which is really convenient. Xiaomi also shows that they worry about our health by implementing the eyesight protection system and also giving us the possibility to regulate the brightness of the light so that we can either have a nice illumination when working or studying or just have a nice and low light when we’re relaxing.
