UPDATE: The first counter has expired and if you click the first symbol, you will be taken to a big announcement. The second symbol counter has started as well.
If you are a PC Gamer, then there is no doubt that you have atleast heard of Steam, the ultimate digital distribution channel for PC Games which was released on the Windows platform on September 12, 2003. In a short decade, Valve has reinvigorated PC Gaming with a constant flux of improvements upon the Steam platform, continuing sale prices, forging new ideas like the Big Picture Mode, and by getting the community involved via Greenlight.
A new teaser/cryptic web page is now live, featuring a glowing planet, 3 orbs with symbols, and a countdown timer. Could this be the announcement of the uber-secretive “Steam Box”? Our intrigue will surely be satisfied soon.
“Last year, we shipped a software feature called Big Picture, a user-interface tailored for televisions and gamepads. This year we’ve been working on even more ways to connect the dots for customers who want Steam in the living-room. Soon, we’ll be adding you to our design process, so that you can help us shape the future of Steam.”
