The Raptor Lake refresh series CPUs feature faster cores for improved multi-tasking, gaming, streaming, and more – up to 6 GHz, with an unmatched overclocking experience. Of course, a capable cooling solution is paramount for the CPU to boost to these high frequencies. This is where EK’s Quantum water blocks come in.
The EK-Quantum Velocity² water blocks mark the first EK product series to feature EK-Matrix7 compatibility. Since its launch, this innovative product has garnered multiple design and performance accolades.
These water blocks use a socket-specific cooling engine to ensure the best performance and optimal flow with low restrictions on every platform. Since the Z790X platform is based on the LGA1700 socket, the EK-Quantum Velocity² 1700 water blocks are fully compatible with the CPU socket and IHS geometry of Intel 14th Gen Core CPUs. The same goes for the EK-Quantum Magnitude 1700, which fits the Raptor Lake Refresh CPUs perfectly.
EK-Quantum Velocity² D-RGB – 1700
Embedded within the Velocity² is EK’s next-generation EK CPU water block cooling engine precisely tailored to the socket. The design and blend of mounting pressure and cold plate geometry suit the IHS and die layout of Intel LGA 1700 socket processors, ensuring low hydraulic flow restriction and superior performance. The coldplate, meticulously lathe-turned, effectively covers the IHS and exerts optimal pressure on the die area.
EK-Quantum Velocity² water blocks use a patent-pending EK-Exact Mount mounting system developed in search of an easy-to-use but aesthetically pleasing mounting mechanism. It is comprised of only two pieces – the backplate and the water block itself – and it’s screwed in from the back, allowing for a seamless and clean front look without any screws disrupting the harmony of shape. The system uses pre-tensioned springs concealed in the water block top, allowing the user to complete the installation and achieve the exact mounting pressure with just a few turns of the thumb nuts.

EK-Quantum Magnitude 1700
This block is specifically engineered for LGA-1700 socket-based Intel Core CPUs. EK-Quantum Magnitude holds the prestigious iF Design award for the bold and different approach to the CPU water block mounting mechanism. Differentiated from any other water block mounting structure that is usually a black and mundane plate, the design accentuates an integrated three-dimensional X-shaped frame with premium finishes that firmly cradles the main body in place. At the same time, the screws are morphed into sophisticated design details.

EK-Quantum Velocity² – 1700 and EK-Quantum Magnitude – 1700 series CPU water blocks are socket-specific, compatible only with Intel LGA 1700 socket CPUs – specifically with the 12th, 13th, and 14th generation of Intel Core processors.
