At the forefront of this design revolution is the top cover, featuring a striking assembly of irregular tetrahedrons that transform each water block into a piece of modern art. Designed specifically for the Intel socket LGA 1700-based platform, they fit Intel’s 12th, 13th, and 14th generation Core CPUs. The cold plate, precisely machined of the highest-grade 99.99% pure electrolytic copper, ensures unparalleled heat transfer.

The top covers of the EK-Quantum Velocity² Edge D-RGB – 1700 Special Editions are available in black and silver finish. The top cover is CNC-milled out of a 30 mm thick aluminium sheet, separated from the coolant with a layer of acrylic to ensure no mixing of metals.

Exciting news for AMD enthusiasts is that EK is also gearing up to launch the AM5 versions of these Special Editions in the coming weeks. The AM5 variants, just like their 1700 counterparts, will be available in sophisticated black and elegant silver finishes.

The EK-Quantum Velocity² series introduces the OptiFlow cooling engine, designed to optimize performance on Intel LGA 1700 socket processors. This innovative cooling solution combines specific mounting pressure with tailored cold plate geometry, achieving low hydraulic flow restriction. This allows the use of weaker water pumps or lower pump speed settings, ensuring silent operation without compromising performance. The precision-engineered lathe-turned cold plate effectively covers the IHS, focusing pressure on the die area.

EK-ExactMount System
EK-Exact Mount is a patent-pending mounting system engineered by EK for an easy-to-use and aesthetically pleasing installation. Comprised of only three components – a backplate, mounting screws, and the water block itself – it allows for a clean and seamless front aesthetic without any screws being visible. EK-Quantum Velocity² Edge series CPU water blocks are socket-specific, compatible only with Intel LGA 1700 socket and 12th, 13th and 14th gen Intel Core CPUs.
