Asus showed off its home companion robot earlier this year. The company calls its robot Zenbo, it’s designed to follow the user around the home and interact with them. The robot can do multiple tasks such as providing users with reminders about stuff they’re supposed to do, answer their questions, and also enable them to control smart home devices and media playback. Asus is going to release the Zenbo in Taiwan on the first day of the new year.
Asus has confirmed today that it’s going to start selling the Zenbo in its home country on January 1st. It says that the robot will only be available in limited quantities initially. It will be selling two different versions of Zenbo.
The base version of Zenbo features 32GB of storage and it’s going to cost around $620 while the high-end model that features a self-charging dock and 128GB of storage is going to cost around $780.
Zenbo will be able to do many tasks for its owners, including but not limited to ordering food, gaming, online shopping, booking a car, and more. Child-friendly features include games and story-telling.
Asus is yet to confirm if and when it’s going to start selling the Zenbo in other markets across the globe. If you want one you will have to import it from Taiwan once it goes on sale there early next month.
