FunkyKit’s Latest Innovations In Aquarium Tech

For those that have read a few of my writings here on FunkyKit will know that I love looking at tech and gadgets for your pets and will regularly mention them from time to time. Most of what we’ve mentioned so far has been for dogs and cats, but I know from personal experience that there is a huge following of keepers of pets that are of the more wet variety.

Innovators and keen fishing-keeping enthusiasts are constantly trying to find new ways to streamline, tweak and improve the technologies they use everyday. Today FunkyKit will delve deeper on the latest aquarium tech.

Auto-Feeding

Auto-feeders has been around for quite some time now. Not only do aquarists use auto-feeders when they might be away from their fishes for a few days, but also it allows them to determine a predetermined cycle of feeding. Previous incarnations of auto-feeders were bulky ugly things you slapped onto the top of your fish tanks, and there has been horror stories of auto-feeders jamming up or dumping a load more of fish food into the fish tank.

Not only has modern auto-feeders become more streamlined in their design, their features have been updated to match the needs of fish-keeping enthusiasts. Just take a look at the auto-feeders from Lifeguard Aquatics and Neptune Systems.

Not only are the designs now completely sealed, keeping moisture away from the dry fish feeds so they don’t goo up, modernized features include being able to integrate with other fish-keeping tech equipment:

– Turn on/off protein skimmers

– Turn on/off return pumps

– Dim lights during feeding

– Preset numerous daily feed times
