Oculus is updating the Rift’s launcher so that it’ll work seamlessly with virtual reality titles from your Steam library. This update is meant to make the Rift work well with all Rift-compatible games on your PC, including those originating from Steam, which has so far been more integrated with Oculus’ competitor, the HTC Vive.
Until now, the launcher was heavily focused on working with apps from the Oculus Store. While the Facebook-owned company would like to keep an emphasis on its own store, accepting apps/games from other areas will please users.
