Samsung Preparing A VR Headset With 2,000ppi Display

Current smartphones and virtual reality headsets have displays with a pixel density of around 500ppi. For example, Galaxy S8 has 571ppi, while the Oculus Rift has a pixel density of 460ppi. While smartphone displays have great pixel densities, the same can’t be said for the VR headsets because our eyes are much closer.

There are also other advantages of a screen with higher pixel density, as it helps with the nausea and dizziness, which is experienced by a lot of VR users. Because of that, Samsung is preparing VR headset that will have a display with a pixel density of 2,000ppi. However, we are still waiting to find out more about the standalone Gear VR headset, so stay tuned.
