The first Cubot smart wearable device was released in May, and barely four months later, the Chinese tech company has released a follow-up, the aptly named Cubot V2. Many tech analysts expect Cubot to work out the shortcomings of the first generation model while incorporating new features in the V2.
The Cubot V2 is made from TPU material and aluminum alloy. It has an IP65 certification which means the smartband is waterproof up to certain levels. It has a 0.88-inch OLED display with a 128×32 resolution.
The Cubot V2 runs on the Nordic Bluetooth chip nRF51822. It also sports a smart heart rate monitor and a triaxial accelerometer. The smart band is powered by an 80mAh battery According to Giz China, the Cubot V2 can last up to seven days in normal usage, and up to 20 days on standby.
The smartband can be synced with supported smartphones via Bluetooth 4.0 connection. The Cubot V2 supports smartphones runs on Android 4.3 or newer versions, and iOS 8.0 or newer versions. Charging the smartband can be done through a microUSB slot.
The Cubot V2 comes with a lot of software features. It has a heart rate monitor, step monitor, calorie monitor, real-time GPS sensor, call reminder feature, SMS notification, sleep monitor, find phone feature, anti-theft reminder, and remote camera feature.
The Cubot V2 is available in three color variants: sky blue, gray, and black.
