Xiaomi Mi Band 2 Review

Mi Fit

The Mi Fit app has been given a makeover introducing a new-look user interface, and adding more ways to drill into your data. It’ll work with Android phones running 4.4 or later and iPhones running iOS 7.0 and above.

Initial syncing with the Mi Band 2 took several attempts, but once paired, the Mi Fit app will show you all that the Mi Band 2 can track; steps, distance and sleep pattern and information.

The app is quite basic. It collects data from the band and collates it in a series of graphs, one for steps and activity, the other for sleep. These are then put into historical graphs covering the day, week, and month. Significant exercise periods are highlighted each day, with the time, distance, and calories burned all shown. Sleep gets a similar treatment, with the amount of time spent in bed, a deep- and light-sleep phase split, and the time you went to sleep and woke up.

The MI band 2 is much cheaper than the competition and a fantastic value for money. Plus Xiaomi is constantly updating it. The low cost makes it easy to overlook some of its bigger issues like the heart rate sensor. I think even if you look at it just as a tracker without a heart rate sensor, its still hard to argue with that price tag.

I might get this band as well, at geekbuying it dropped to $27.
