In Flight!
The 668-A3 is just brilliant to play with. With not too much knowledge with drones, I found the 668-A3 flight to be very smooth when you want it to be, or super nutty and speedy if you want it to be.
One of the best attributes the 668-A3 has, especially for beginners to learn on, is toughness. It’s survived all of my numerous crashes inside my home against the walls, and outside at full speed descent crashes on my rooftop. With the design of the landing legs, it allows landing to be easily done, and its spread apart well enough that tipping over does not happen very often.
I read elsewhere that the 668-A3 has something like a 140metre flying range, and to be honest I never got to fly it that far in fear of losing it, but I did fly it to over 80metres away. The return home mode is quite temperamental, with half the time I’m not even sure the 668-A3 received the signal to come back…..
As with all drones/quadcopters of this size, due to way the spinning blades cuts the air, you will find the 668-A3 produce an audible buzz when its flying, so flying it indoors can be quite noisy.
Verdict & Conclusion
The YuXiang 668-A3 is just brilliant. Don’t let the feel and weight of it kid you, the 668-A3 can be a challenging drone to fly, with lots of tricks up its sleeve with all it controls and speed. Fly it as a beginner nice and controlled, or let it loose and have it whizz around and taking sharp turns. The only downside to the 668-A3 is that it doesn’t come with replacement blades for, you know, just in case you crash it one too many times!
You can get a 668-A3 for around USD$22 if you look hard enough, and that USD$22 will bring you bags of fun! Buy now at Hobbyluck.
The biggest disappointment I had was I only had a 5 minute window of nice weather to just manage to take a few photos, and not enough time to shoot a few videos of the 668-A3 on flight before the rain came down. I hope to update you all with these videos as soon as they’re shot!
