Well, I knew clones of Apple’s Macbook Air was floating about … nothing new really, but this one’s is almost identical (without the Apple logo). Of course, this unit does not run MacOS, but powered by Windows 8 instead. Incidentally, FunkyKit team was in Shenzhen last December and we saw a few Apple Mac clones (in appearance) … with 24″ screens, built-in DVD-R drives and running Windows 10.

“Updated. Some days ago my friend bought via Taobao new MacBook Air 2016 model. Price – 400USD. Very cool price. Cool design. … but… after receipt of goods, he saw Windows 8 on his Mac. Do you think it is MacBook Air 2016? Hmm. No. It’s MacBook Air Clone. :(. It’s true. I found our old post with such MacBook Air knockoff. Ok. If you didn’t read, you can do it now.
The techno-sweatshops of Shenzhen have never seen an Apple design they weren’t willing to ineptly rip off, but this unibody MacBook Air knock-off is a totally different thing, it even rip off Apple’s MacBook Air unibody enclosure, for under half the price of the real thing.”
