Many of us have expected to see a new Surface device today and Microsoft has fulfilled our wishes. The company has dropped the numbering scheme and launched a new device called Surface Pro. While it looks pretty much the same as the old Surface Pro 4, it is a completely different device under the hood.
Hardware-wise, it features Intel Kaby Lake processor (fanless design on Core m3 and Core i5 models), up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD, an 8 MP rear and a 5 MP front cameras and optional 4G LTE connectivity. Unfortunately, the SSD is soldered onto the motherboard and it is very questionable if users will be able to upgrade the storage. All these changes have resulted in a longer battery life, with up to 13.5 hours.

Other changes include new keyboard covers covered with the Alcantara fabric, redesigned stylus with 4,096 pressure levels and a kickstand that lowers the system to a slightly lower angle.
Microsoft Surface Pro 2017 starts at $799.99 and goes up to $2,699 for the top-end i7 version with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD. It is available for pre-order and will start shipping on June 15. The new Surface Pen costs $99 and Surface Pro Type Covers are sold for $159.
