I’m starting to like these gaming notebooks from MSI.
After checking out MSI’s newest graphics cards, we took a closer look at their laptops including the 17.3-inch GS75 Stealth which just so happens to be their most potent ultra-thin gaming notebook. It comes packing up to an 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q to deliver the best possible gaming performance. In order to facilitate that MSI also used a 144 Hz 1080p display. The system also supports up to 32 GB of DDR4-2666 memory and has 2x NVMe M.2 / SATA-SSD combo slots and 1x NVMe M.2 SSD slot. It also features MSI’s Cooler Boost Trinity+ technology which improves cooling for maximum performance. Meanwhile, the touchpad has a 35% larger surface area features a glass surface, and it also has support for multi-touch gestures. The keyboard is by SteelSeries and offers per-key RGB illumination, while sound is handled by Dynaudio using a passive radiator design. All in all, it has some beefy specifications for an ultra-thin to say the least.
A more traditional 17-inch notebook with similar specs was also on hand dubbed the GE75 Raider it features the same 8th generation Intel Core i7 and up to the latest GeForce RTX 2080. It also featured support for up to 32 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz memory and a 144 Hz 1080p display. The per-key RGB illuminated SteelSeries keyboard also carries over here as well. Storage options include a single 2.5-inch HDD bay and 1x NVMe PCIe Gen3 SATA-SSD combo slot and a single NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen3 slot. For bigger better sound it has upgraded giant speakers from Dynaudio as well.
Their top tier performance option on display was the GT75 Titan. It offers support for up to 8th generation Intel i9 processors as well as up to a GeForce RTX 2080 graphics processor. Display options include a 17.3-inch 4k IPS level panel or a 1080p 144 Hz option for the best possible gaming experience. It also offers a surround gaming mode with 4K output on up to 3 external monitors. When it comes to system memory, MSI takes things to the next level on this model with it offering support for up to 64 GB of 2666 MHz DDR4. Storage options are greatly expanded on this model as well with it coming with a single 2.5-inch drive bay and space for up to 5x NVMe M.2 SSDs. The keyboard also sees an upgrade on this model with the use of a Mechanical RGB illuminated offering by SteelSeries.
