The Galaxy Book series, designed to work seamlessly with other Galaxy devices including your tablet, smartphone and wearables, is about to get even more powerful. On 5th October, Microsoft launched all-new Windows 11, an operating system (OS) that includes such upgraded features a split-screen and multi-window UI options, expanded availability of Android apps for PC, a sleeker interface and more, which perfectly complements the Galaxy Book series with its emphasis on mobile-forward computing experiences.
Maximising Mobility and Ecosystem Experiences
Much like the mobile-forward experiences set to come to users with the introduction of Windows 11, Samsung’s Galaxy Book series has been designed following careful observation of changing lifestyle trends and needs in order to develop devices that maximise mobility and work effortlessly with your other Galaxy devices at home and at work.
With Link to Windows, you can connect your Galaxy smartphone to your Galaxy Book series device to maximise productivity by taking advantage of the greater screen real estate, and make use of your favourite mobile apps with the convenience of the PC environment. With the update, you can check your phone connectivity status, manage sound controls and even enable ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode on your Galaxy Book series, all with the help of the familiar UI just as you see on your Galaxy smartphones and tablets for more seamless control using your PC. Link to Windows also comes with Dark Mode for comfortable viewing experiences no matter the time of day.
Along with the launch of Windows 11, Live Wallpaper on the Galaxy Book series has also received an upgrade. Live Wallpaper now supports the same UI as seen on your Galaxy smartphones and tablets, as well as the same Dynamic Wallpaper images found on Galaxy Dynamic Lockscreen. Users can enjoy a range of high-quality background images from 10 different categories of Dynamic Wallpaper that are exclusive to this feature. With the Live Wallpaper update, you can enjoy the same background across your Galaxy mobiles, tablets and PCs.
Furthermore, for even more mobility with your device, Samsung has introduced Bixby on Windows for Galaxy Book users to provide an intuitive way for you to interact with your PC. Through simple voice commands, you can search for files, open apps and Settings and even control devices within your SmartThings-registered device ecosystem. Simply say “Hi Bixby” or press CTRL, Shift and B or FN and B simultaneously to activate the Bixby on Windows feature, and enjoy easily installation by visiting the Microsoft store or searching for Bixby in your Windows taskbar.
The Galaxy Book Pro 360 5G will be the first Samsung laptop to ship with Windows 11. Existing Galaxy Book series devices are also compatible with Windows 11, and users are eligible for a free upgrade to this new operating system. Detailed information on the upgrade procedure process can be found on the official Microsoft website.
