We saw this card in our review of the ASRock TRX40 Taichi motherboard. It came bundled with the motherboard, which is a nice added bonus 🙂
Taken from Guru3D … ASRock released a M.2 SSD expansion card called HYPER QUAD M.2, compatible with PCI-Express 4.0 it will be available in the domestic market.
This expansion card that can mount four NVMe M.2 SSDs with PCI-Express4.0 (x4) connection. The connection interface is PCI-Express4.0 (x16), and the SSD form factor corresponds to M.2 2242/2260/2280/22110.
It includes a cooling system that combines a 50mm fan, a large aluminum cover, and a 110mm long thermal pad to cool the NVMe M.2 SSD that generates a lot of heat is used. The fan speed can be adjusted, and it can be used for systems that emphasize quiet acoustics.
The four M.2 slots are arranged at a 45° angle, not horizontally or vertically. This allows traces to be kept as short and linear as possible, increasing stability and minimizing performance degradation. Other features include a dip switch for simultaneous use of up to four cards, a dedicated utility for monitoring card information and adjusting the fan speed, and an “Activity LED” for checking SSD access status. The supported platforms are AMD TRX40 / X399 and Intel X299 (Gen 3.0), and the auxiliary power connector is 6pinx1.
