EK-Quantum Surface Slim Radiators – Black Edition
The new Black Edition EK-Quantum Surface S radiators come in two sizes:
- 240 mm: EK-Quantum Surface S240 – Black Edition
- 360 mm: EK-Quantum Surface S360 – Black Edition
With a thickness of only 30 mm, the EK-Quantum S Series Surface radiators prove ideal for cases with limited space. Despite this reduced profile, they exhibit exceptional performance, especially at low and medium fan speeds.
The Black Edition Surface radiators feature dual G1/4″ threaded connection ports and 16 copper tubes, each measuring 2 mm in width, which run across the entire length of the radiator. This ensures optimal coolant flow without placing any stress on your cooling loop. Crafted from high-quality non-louvered copper fins with a density of 20 FPI, these radiators achieve an optimal balance between thermal transfer and air resistance. This design ensures optimal performance, even with fans operating at low speeds.
It’s important to note that a Push/Pull configuration on an S Series EK-Quantum Surface radiator isn’t a recommended approach, as it won’t yield a proportional performance increase. If increased cooling capability is required, the recommended solution is to incorporate additional radiators.
Like all other Quantum Line products, EK’s Surface radiators bring numerous improvements, including better thermal performance, as well as reduced coolant flow restriction and airflow restriction.

The interior architecture of the radiator is meticulously designed to minimize any flow restrictions and alleviate any strain on the cooling loop. This approach enables the integration of multiple radiators into a single cooling loop using a single pump (D5 or DDC). Featuring airflow-friendly and low-restriction attributes, these radiators maintain peak performance even when operating at lower fan speeds. Low airflow restriction keeps the case well-ventilated and allows other radiators in the case to breathe properly.
EK-Matrix7 Compatibility
Since any EK custom liquid-cooling loop is built from multiple EK products, the most valuable distinction in aesthetics and ease of use comes from the sum of all the parts. To address this, EK initiated Matrix7, a system that standardizes products’ dimensions, port position, and spacing. In so doing, we are making the liquid cooling loop assembly more intuitive and allowing users to easily create a clean set of parallel tubing runs.
All EK-Quantum Surface radiators are EK-Matrix7 compatible, which means they effortlessly integrate with Reflection², the second generation of Quantum distro plates. This enables the user to easily swap and upgrade between S, P, and X series Surface radiators within the same case (provided the case supports thicker radiators in the same position).
Availability and Pricing
EK-Quantum Surface Black Edition radiators are designed and engineered in Slovenia (Europe) and made in China. They are available for pre-order through the EK Webshop and Partner Reseller Network.
