MTT S80 Announces its First PCIe Gen5 Graphics Card

The MTT S80 offers performance somewherebetween GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070. 

Taken rom Videocardz … This Chinese company has only been established in 2021, but has been on a schedule to introduce high-end graphics for data-centers and gaming as quickly as possible. Although we have not seen any MTT GPU in action yet (except public demos), the portfolio of the company is growing rapidly.

Today, MTT introduces S80 and S3000 GPUs. The first is a gaming card and the latter is for AI-training/data centers. These should be considered successors to S60 and S2000 respectively, both launched in March this year.

New cards are based on the same architecture as S60 and S2000 GPUs called MT Unified System Architecture (MUSA). The S80 features 4096 cores clocked up to 1.8 GHz. The company promises up to 14.4 TFLOPs of single-precision compute performance, so something in between GeForce RTX 3060 Ti and RTX 3070.

The company is also announcing MTT S3000, a special passive design for server enclosures. It comes with the same core count as S80, but it features twice as high memory capacity at 32GB. It is also clocked higher at 1.9 GHz (15.2 TFLOPS). What is uncommon for a passive server GPUs are display connector. This model features two DisplayPort 1.4a.

The company announced that S80 will be available on November 11th. No pricing has been confirmed yet.
