Leading consumer electronics company Meizu introduced its M3E smartphone at a product launch event in Beijing on August 10, the latest in its growing list of M Series releases.
Targeted at young professionals, the M3E emphasizes three key features to cater for the upgraded habits of a new generation of users, namely:
- Great design and craftsmanship
- Fast charging
- Powerful cameras
With a slightly higher-end focus than previous devices in the M series, M3E offers special designs and advanced functionalities such as a smooth and delicate aluminum alloy body and a nano-injected antenna. With exquisite CNC processing technology, it is not only stronger, it also feels better when held in the hand.
The M3E also features a 2.5D glass design, with 0.8mm glass that makes the entire phone more integrated and natural, and improves the appearance and style.
With industry-leading 18 W charging power and Meizu’s mCharge technology, M3E’s 3100mAh battery can be charged to full capacity in little more than an hour. The technology can also automatically regulate the charging state according to body temperature, battery voltage, usage scenario and other data to ensure safe and fast charging.
Another upgrade for the M3E is its powerful cameras. Its 13MP rear camera uses the SONY IMX258 sensor, PDAF phase focusing and 0.2s ultra-speed focusing, while the front camera utilizes a combination of a 5MP sensor, FotoNation 2.0 smart beauty technology and Face Auto-Exposure Enhancement algorithm. It also provides a real-time beautifying function which allows the user to obtain an automatically processed image by simply pressing a button.
Other highlights of the M3E include an 8-core 64-bit MediaTek Helio P10 processor clocked at 1.8GHz and ARM’s 64-bit flagship GPU Mali-T860 MP2 with excellent performance in image rendering and multimedia display. The M3E’s fingerprint recognition algorithm unlocks the device in just 0.2 seconds and the excellent abrasion resistance of the surface material ensures touch times exceeding 10 million.
“Meizu is committed to developing products for new users and our products are well-received among our customers,” said Li Nan, VP of Meizu. “Now we upgrade our product line by introducing the stylish M3E, which in future will even be able to replace the user’s car keys after a quick firmware upgrade.”
The M3E is available in gray, silver, gold, rose gold, and blue, and priced from RMB1299 (USD195)(3G+32G).
